PRC Risk Register: Scoring System Template

The PRC Risk Register Scoring System allows you to create a scoring system template that can be applied to your project. These templates are saved in the system and can be reused for future projects. Please note the Scoring System template will lock once a threat or opportunity has been scored, and no changes to the template can be made.


 

 

Creating a new template

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Click Create New Template
  3. Enter the Template Name and Template Description, and click Save Template.
  4. After you receive the final confirmation message, then click OK. A new template has now been added to the system.  (Users will have to select ‘Edit Template Info’ to populate the rest of the fields).


 

Editing the Probability and Tolerance Scales

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Open the template by using the Search or Select functions. 
  3. Go down to the Probability and Tolerance Scales section.
  4. Click Edit Probability and Tolerance
  5. After the data has been modified, then click Save.
  6. After you receive the final confirmation message, then click OK. The Probability and Tolerance Scales have now been updated on the project. 


 

Adding a new Impact Type

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Open the template by using the Search or Select functions. 
  3. Go down to the Impacts section.
  4. Click Add Impact Type
  5. After you receive the message that it was successfully added, click OK. A new impact type has now been added to the scoring system.  You will now have to ‘edit the impact’ to set the impact name and description.

 

 

Editing an Impact Type

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Open the template by using the Search or Select functions. 
  3. Go down to the Impacts section.
  4. Click Edit Impacts
  5. To update the impact type name, you will need to click on the blue header bar to unlock it for editing.  Descriptions or Threshold fields are already unlocked and can be modified at this time.
  6. After the data has been modified, then click Save.
  7. After you receive the message that it was successfully added, click OK. The impact type has now been updated in the scoring system. 

 

 

Deleting an Impact Type

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Open the template by using the Search or Select functions. 
  3. Go down to the Impacts section.
  4. Click Edit Impacts
  5. Click the red x button next to the impact type you wish to remove.
  6. You will then receive a warning message that the impact type will be removed, click OK.
  7. After you receive the final confirmation message, then click OK. The impact type has now been removed from the scoring system.


 

Editing the Risk Matrix

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Open the template by using the Search or Select functions. 
  3. Go down to the Risk Matrix section.
  4. Click Edit Risk Matrix. (Click Refresh if you do not see the Edit Risk Matrix option)
  5. After the data has been modified, then click Save.
  6. After you receive the message that it was successfully saved, click OK. The risk matrix has now been updated in the scoring system. 


 

Viewing/Modifying Level Definitions

Steps:

  1. Portfolio Management | Project Templates | Scoring System
  2. Open the template by using the Search or Select functions. 
  3. Go down to the Probability and Tolerance Scales or Impacts section.
  4. Click View Level Definitions.
  5. You can view or make modifications to the short or long names here.
  6. After the data has been modified, then click Save.
  7. After you receive the message that it was sucessfully saved, click OK.  The level definitions have now been updated in the scoring system.
